Saturday Savers Club Progress week 10 - lots of HBD and HIVE trading this week

Its week 10 (09/03/24) of my savings focus for 2024 with the Saturday Savers Club which is a great Hive community initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account.

My goals for this year are:

• Primary goal - to increase my HP by 7500, to 18500 HP,
• Secondary goal - to increase my HP delegation to @eds-vote by 1000 HP, to 3000 HP (because I want to accumulate more of the EDS token).

I will also be continuing to increase my holding of investment tokens, and delegating HP to a number of good community curation accounts as well.

This weeks pic - We took a walk in our local park this week and saw a few Canadian Geese, including this rather friendly one. They must have stopped for a day or so during their annual migrations.

Weekly Investment Focus

• There was a lot of volatility in the price of HIVE this week, so my main focus was on HBD:HIVE trading, which went really well - with a total of 82 trades going through !,
• I was trying my best to get back to regular posting this week. I managed 5 in total, which is an improvement, so I'll take that as a win,
• I've been building up some swap.hive (not a lot) via selling odd bits of layer2 tokens and the like. I'm doing this as I'm keen to buy some Holozing packs whenever they come out, so have started putting swap.hive aside for that. And rather than having it sitting there earning nothing, I've dumped it into the PWR:swap.hive liquidity pool in order to earn a little more PWR while I'm waiting for the packs to go on sale. Does any one know when the packs will go on sale ?,
• With the price of BTC going so high, I decided to take some profits and sold a third of the BTC I Hold (which really isnt much). I converted it into USDT (a stable coin). However, thinking about it, I think BTC will continue going up, especially with the halving being quite close. So if it takes another dip, like it did on the 5th of March, I'll buy back into BTC (at a small profit), and sit and wait for it to continue to up (fingers crossed).

Weekly Stats

Weekly commentary

• HP Gain: I gained +51 HP this week, which is about right for my activity last week. I normally convert any HBD post payments into HIVE and power that up too, but instead I added the HBD to my trading fund for HBD:HIVE trading as that has been going so well this last few weeks,
• HP Passive: 16.27 of my HP gain this week came from curation (+9.88 HP, not really passive) and HP APR (+6.39 HP - based on the current HP APR of 2.80%). Both are a little down this week, but its still a nice weekly contirbution,
• HP goal: My HP total now stands at 11860 HP and I need a further 6640 HP to hit my primary goal of 18500 HP. At 42 weeks to go, that requires 156 per week (an increase of 2 HP), which is pretty steep and will be quite a challenge, especially if I keep having weeks where I have low activity,
• HP delegation to @eds-vote: My HP delegation to @eds-vote increased by +9HP to 2110 HP. I need to delegate another 890 to hit my secondary target to raise my total delegation to 3000 HP. That will require an average of 21 HP delegated per week to hit it, which I should achieve,
• HP delegation to curation accounts: I delegated another +8HP to @curangel to bring that total to 195. The aim to to take that to 250 HP - only 55 to go now !,
• HP delegation to curation accounts: The main aim of these community delegations is to support these great curation accounts that have helped me along the way to where I am now, but I'm also getting nice daily drips of HIVE as a result from @ocdb, @qurator and @curangel as they pass on their curation income to delegators, which is a nice little bonus !
  I tend to reinvest those HIVE drips from the curation accounts back into my HBD:HIVE trading fund, giving a nice little synergy to growing another income stream,
• EDS: I gained +2.68 EDS. My 2110 HP delegation to @eds-vote brought in 1.81 EDS this week. The rest of the gain seen came from the mining lottery for holding EDSMMs (I have 146 of those) and the weekly drip from holding 7 EDSD (which was 0.03 EDS this week). I selected increasing my delegation to @eds-vote as my secondary goal as I'm really keen to keep accumulating EDS, and focusing on the HP delegation works well with my primary goal of increasing my HP total,
• EDSD: I didnt add any EDSD this week because I used any spare funds to increase my trading pots for HDB:HIVE trading,
• DAB: I gained +2.222 DAB this week, taking my total to 66.315 DAB. I'm always happy with a weekly gain of more than 2,
• DBOND: I gained 8 DBOND this week, taking my total to 742. This payout was higher than normal, due to the node issues that stopped payments in previous weeks. So that was the catch-up payment - which was great !,,
• DRIP: I gained +3 DRIP this week, taking my total to 120, which is a result of the daily passive gains over the week from staking the DRIP I already have. DRIP provides me with a quite important daily supply of swap.hive. Its not huge, but it adds up and helps me with other small misc purchases I like to make, including adding liquidity into various pools (I added some to the SWAP.HIVE:PWR pool this week),
• HBD:HIVE Trading: I had a crazy week on the trading front. There was some good volatility in the price of HIVE this week with the price ranging from $0.3869 through to $0.4696, with some great up and down periods, which worked perfectly for my trading strategy. As such I made a total of 82 trades, with a gain in the region of 159 HIVE !!! So I was very happy with this. The only issue now is that I'm getting towards the top of my trading range, so I'll have to add some more funds and increase the gap between flips if the price goes higher - but thats ok, I can deal with that quite happily.

Plan for the coming week

• Regular Posting: To continue to make sure I post daily/regularly to ensure daily HBD and HIVE author rewards (although I havent been managing so well on this front since the start of the year, so I need to get back into the rhythm).
• **Posting via Inleo: ** I've been actively using Inleo more for posting which should help give a boost to my LEO income, especially with the Leo-ADs initiative now kicking in. I'm also considering trying premium at some point, but will wait until I'm more active again as I dont want to waste it,
• Curation: To be active in HIVE Blog curation to help with HIVE curation rewards. My curation is mostly manual and I mostly try to keep my voting mana between 80 to 90%,
• Undelegated HP: To continue to increase undelegated HP in order to improve HIVE curation rewards,
• HBD:HIVE trading: To continue with HBD:HIVE trading. I'm going to keep adding more funds to my trading capital from post payouts over the coming weeks. I want to boost my trading pots in a few key areas, which should help me over the long run to increase gains. HBD:HIVE trading has been working well for me, so I may as well take advantage of that and try to increase the profits on my trades - increasing my trading capital will help to make that happen,
• HP delegation to @eds-vote: This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to @eds-vote will add a further 5 HP (it all counts !),
• HP delegation to curation accounts: This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to community curation accounts will add a further 5 HP to my @curangel delegation.
• EDSD: My aim has been to buy 1-2 EDSD per week to help build up my pot of those, and in turn my EDS stack, however I've not had as much funds to play with of late, so we'll see how it goes. However, with the price of HIVE being higher, I may add some of the HBD from my trading fund into EDSD temporarily as some of it is out of trading range at the moment. That will be a nice and easy way to put that HBD to work in the short term. If the price of HIVE then drops, I can take that HBD back out of EDSD and put it to work again via trading (I quite like the synergy of that).

Summary

In summary, I was happy with a 51 HP gain. It was more than I was expecting, especially considering I didnt sell any HBD from post payouts for HP this week. I was extremely happy with how the HBD:HIVE trading went this week and I'd be happy to have more weeks like that.

My Tribe Token Investment Project

My experiment with 8 different tribe tokens on my alt account @hoosieboy is moving along nicely. The experiment is designed to grow semi-passively via staking, curation, posting and rebalancing - in a way where the methods should work together and add constructively. Everything gets re-invested back into curation accounts for the same 8 tribe tokens, so it also provides a positive boost to those tribes.

I undertook my last rebalance last weekend, so am due another one soon. I saw a nice increase in the basket value due to a rise in the price of CTP, noting that while it was low I had been buying into it (which is how the rebalance method works). So it was quite a nice rebalance. I'm also getting close to the point of also being able to delegate HP on that account for additional curation income related to the 8 tribe tokens.
