Saturday Savers Club Progress week 9 - some nice HBD and HIVE trading

Its week 9 (02/03/24) of my savings focus for 2024 with the Saturday Savers Club which is a great Hive community initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account.

My goals for this year are:

• Primary goal - to increase my HP by 7500, to 18500 HP,
• Secondary goal - to increase my HP delegation to @eds-vote by 1000 HP, to 3000 HP (because I want to accumulate more of the EDS token).

I will also be continuing to increase my holding of investment tokens, and delegating HP to a number of good community curation accounts as well.

This weeks pic - We've been starting to see some nicer weather in Edinburgh. Dont get me wrong - its still cold, but we've been getting sunny days with blue skies, which have been very welcome.

Weekly commentary

• HP Gain: I gained +79 HP this week, which is higher than I expected as I've not been as active of late, so I'm taking that as a win. I'm still pretty busy with work and life which has been impacting my hive time. I'm trying to get back onto Hive more, but its not been easy,
• HP Passive: 17.36 of my HP gain this week came from curation (+10.8 HP, not really passive) and HP APR (+6.56 HP - based on the current HP APR of 2.89%). I think this is the highest combined value I've had, due to the increase in my curation reward. This is making a nice little difference each week,
• HP goal: My HP total now stands at 11809 HP and I need a further 6691 HP to hit my primary goal of 18500 HP. At 43 weeks to go, that requires 154 per week (an increase of 2 HP), which is pretty steep and will be quite a challenge, especially if I keep having weeks where I have low activity,
• HP delegation to @eds-vote: My HP delegation to @eds-vote increased by +4HP to 2101 HP. I need to delegate another 899 to hit my secondary target to raise my total delegation to 3000 HP. That will require an average of 20 HP delegated per week to hit it, which I should achieve,
• HP delegation to curation accounts: I delegated another +3HP to @curangel to bring that total to 187. The aim to to take that to 250 HP - only 63 to go now !,
• HP delegation to curation accounts: The main aim of these community delegations is to support these great curation accounts that have helped me along the way to where I am now, but I'm also getting nice daily drips of HIVE as a result from @ocdb, @qurator and @curangel as they pass on their curation income to delegators, which is a nice little bonus !
  I tend to reinvest those HIVE drips from the curation accounts back into my HBD:HIVE trading fund, giving a nice little synergy to growing another income stream,
• EDS: I gained +2.29 EDS. My 2101 HP delegation to @eds-vote brought in 1.71 EDS this week. The rest of the gain seen came from the mining lottery for holding EDSMMs (I have 146 of those) and the weekly drip from holding 7 EDSD (which was 0.04 EDS this week). I selected increasing my delegation to @eds-vote as my secondary goal as I'm really keen to keep accumulating EDS, and focusing on the HP delegation works well with my primary goal of increasing my HP total,
• EDSD: I didnt add any EDSD this week because I had very little spare funds to play with,
• DAB: I gained +1.515 DAB this week, taking my total to 64.093 DAB. The gain was a little lower this week, but a gain is a gain !,
• DBOND: I had no DBOND growth this week, and I'm assuming its still being affected by the node problems. I'm confident that it will catch-up soon when the issues are resolved,
• DRIP: I gained +2 DRIP this week, taking my total to 115, which is a result of the daily passive gains over the week from staking the DRIP I already have. DRIP provides me with a quite important daily supply of swap.hive. Its not huge, but it adds up and helps me with other small misc purchases I like to make, including adding liquidity into various pools (I added some to the SWAP.HIVE:PWR pool this week),
• HBD:HIVE Trading: There was some really nice movement in the market this week, especially yesterday, with the price ranging over the week from $0.3278 to $0.4102. As such I had 25 trades go through, with some of those being some of my larger trading pots. As such I made some nice gains (~83 HIVE). I did make a small mistake in one of the trades, which is a lesson learned. I was handling quite a few trades at the same time and I got the maths wrong on one of them. But its ok, it was only a small mistake, and it will correct itself at the next trade. I'm now sort of thinking the price will relax again (market correction) and go back down. If it does, I'll get the reciprocal trades on the way back down, which would be nice ! I'm pretty happy with how its gone this week !

Plan for the coming week

• Regular Posting: To continue to make sure I post daily/regularly to ensure daily HBD and HIVE author rewards (although I havent been managing so well on this front since the start of the year, so I need to get back into the rhythm).
• **Posting via Inleo: ** I've been actively using Inleo more for posting which should help give a boost to my LEO income, especially with the Leo-ADs initiative now kicking in. I'm also considering trying premium at some point, but will wait until I'm more active again as I dont want to waste it. As of yesterday I also got my first leo-ads payout, which was nice. It wasnt huge (4.2 LEO) - but it all adds up, and it was for activity I would have been undertaking anyway,
• Curation: To be active in HIVE Blog curation to help with HIVE curation rewards. My curation is mostly manual and I mostly try to keep my voting mana between 80 to 90%,
• Undelegated HP: To continue to increase undelegated HP in order to improve HIVE curation rewards,
• HBD:HIVE trading: To continue with HBD:HIVE trading. I'm going to start adding more funds to my trading capital from post payouts over the coming weeks. I want to boost my trading pots in a few key areas, which should help me over the long run to increase gains. HBD:HIVE trading has been working well for me, so I may as well take advantage of that and try to increase the profits on my trades - increasing my trading capital will help to make that happen,
• HP delegation to @eds-vote: This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to @eds-vote will add a further 8 HP (it all counts !),
• HP delegation to curation accounts: This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to community curation accounts will add a further 8 HP to my @curangel delegation.
• EDSD: My aim has been to buy 1-2 EDSD per week to help build up my pot of those, and in turn my EDS stack, however I've not had as much funds to play with of late, so we'll see how it goes. However, now that the price of HIVE has jumped a little, it makes it more appealing for me.

Summary

In summary, it was a really good week, when you combine my HP income and HBD:HIVE trading income. I wasnt that active, and as such I'm very happy with these gains. It will be interesting to see where the price of HIVE goes from here considering the gains made these last few days. Lets see what happens !!!

My Tribe Token Investment Project

My experiment with 8 different tribe tokens on my alt account @hoosieboy is moving along nicely. The experiment is designed to grow semi-passively via staking, curation, posting and rebalancing - in a way where the methods should work together and add constructively. Everything gets re-invested back into curation accounts for the same 8 tribe tokens, so it also provides a positive boost to those tribes.

I'm due another rebalance, and will probably do one this weekend. I'm still finding it really interesting, even though the amounts are quite low at the moment. However, the token numbers continue to grow which is the main thing. A couple of bigger post payouts would help to kick start it that bit better, but we'll have to see what happens. In general its great to see the various methods of curation, posting, staking and rebalancing all working in tandem. You can check out my latest rebalance post on my @hoosieboy alt account here.
