New Template, and questions about Precious metals.

As you can see, I updated my template and account.

Made an avatar reflecting exactly what this account is for, and writing it in the signature. Also added the #silvergoldstackers banner provided by @thekittygirl.

Goal

Actual goal: I will spare to buy my next piece of metal, preferably gold because here in Belgium, we have to pay VAT over everything, almost, EXCEPT gold.
I do not even understand why we have to pay VAT on SILVER or PLATINE, and not on GOLD .
If you know why, do not hesitate to explain to me, I love to learn !

Even if I will do my best to participate in the community's life, tru discord or with posting about your events, don't expect the next purchase too soon. I am building up slowly, really slowly ... But I never give up!

In the meanwhile, I will get acquainted to the discord, its channels and bots, like I am not sure I understood the role of precious. I need more time to analyze :)

Do you prefer Gold bars, bullions, coins ? Or silver ? ...

Personally, I prefer gold coins and rounds.

I believe @bitcoinman and @goldrooster accept Hive/HBD in exchange for silver/gold. They'd be your best points of contact for that. They're both awesome. 😁

I recommend everyone join at least one community on Hive and also join their Discord. It makes it even more fun, it helps to have a group of friends to support you, and Hive can become very lonely without that interaction. #silvergoldstackers is an awesome group of people. You won't regret joining! 😁

My understanding on VAT is that most European countries consider gold to be an investment, whereas the other metals are considered commodities, and so only gold is exempt because of this.

You're more than probably right, but gold is also used as commodity, and that is why it confuses me a bit, :)

I've overbought in silver over the years. I had a certain ratio of gold and silver as a long term goal in mind when I started almost ten years ago. Just catching up now on gold holdings.

In the country I'm in we pay VAT for literally everything, buying gold or silver here is too expensive, I'm waiting for the opportunity to buy some silver, as I say in my posts as a joke, I'm looking, then I buy.
