STRK Token Launch: Will The Chain Survive With Its Disappointed Community?

Starknet launched its long awaited token and only few people compared to the community claimed their eligibility because of their eligibility. The starknet chain before launch got a lot of people like me interested, especially airdrop hunters. Airdrop hunters help create activities on a chain, and it’s a way to explore new chains before launch. When people are transacting on a chain hoping for an airdrop, they discorder certain things in the chain that might interest them or make them want to keep transacting. Let’s look at Solana, Solana chain has distributed numerous airdrops and that has kept the chain running and active for a while now. Lots of people got an airdrop for staking Solana on jitsol, now lots of people are staking on the Solana chain, driving the TVL higher.

Starknet is a Ethereum Layer 2 chain, nothing special about the chain, but then, it’s a new chain that people wanted to explore. I have been in the airdrop hunting space for officially almost two years by September and here are some of my observations. Most projects that launched while making their community happy through airdrop are excelling. This is why, every project I got airdrop from, I always have this gratitude feeling and sense of loyalty towards that project or chain. I end up going back to interact with the chain and support it. If they have a staking program I stake, if they have a liquid it providing option, I provide liquidity. Whenever I see any post or update from them, I get this nice feeling of satisfaction, because I know that as part of their community, I was treated very nice and fairly, so I always feel obligated to interact.

But projects that neglected the community and didn’t incentivize the community kinda failed. Let’s look at SUI and SEI, the most popular crypto projects that neglected their community. They neglected their community, the community felt neglected and left, no one is interacting on the chain as much as they were interacting on the testnet. They left the chain because they were angry and felt neglected, whenever I encounter any project built on the chain, I get this feeling not to interact with the chain. Because I felt neglected by the chain.

Stark is the latest project that recently neglected its true users, just like others, I have dissociated myself from the chain. I dont feel obligated to interact with the chain, I dont know how long the feeling will last but that is how I feel. I thought I was the only person with the feeling until I went to their comment section and saw people with the same feeling. The chain seemed promising before launching, but will it reach its full potential without its users. Who knows, may be over time, when lots of people had moved on they might start interacting with the chain and forget about the ill feeling they have towards the airdrop.

Sorry for the short lived expectations. It happens sometimes. I guess that's why it's called airdrop hunting

The airdrop is beyond my expectation to be honest. Some people did not like 0.005 criteria, though.
