Deadlines & Pressure

Have you ever tried to achieve a goal then set a goal for yourself, but unfortunately everyday you are depressed and sad because you haven’t achieved the goal? Well this is what happens when you set goals and pressure yourself, most times no one knows what an outcome would be, we can only hope the outcome is what we expected, but the saddest part about all this is the period of waiting. When you make a plan, especially a financial plan and it goes according to plan and takes the right time to actualise, it feels really good, it feels fulfilling, you are happy with your life and your decisions, you might as well write a book on hoe to be successful with your plans.

But if you make plans and you are in the phase of waiting, that period becomes one of the most trying times for you, you wake up each day trying to imagine what your life would be like if you are successful with your goals, while you are thinking about that, you are also thinking about how your life would be like if you fail. Remember it’s a goal and you set a deadline, when your goal deadline passes, so you start feeling sad. But do you know one of the greatest feelings? Setting a goal without any deadline is the best way to not get any depression.

For instance if you set a deadline to have your first car at 21, when you are 24 with no car you will be depressed, but if you set a goal to have a car some day, it doesnt matter when you get the car, you are going to be happy regardless. But for the person who set a car goal at 21 when they finally get it at 26 or 27, they won’t be happy, they will feel like a failure even though they have the car. That’s how setting deadlines and putting yourself under pressure feels like.
