Diary Of A Crypto Node Runner
This is my third month in crypto node running and I will like to say that, it’s been a really tough and tasking process and I hope it is all worth it at the end. Why did I start crypto node running you would ask? Well for obvious reasons, airdrop, but at the same time to get the experience, I have chosen crypto as a career and while the airdrop incentives is a motivational booster, the experience is not a bad as that would be attached my resume, my knowledge and my skill.
Some days in running the node has been smooth, I mean how hard can it be? Just do a copy and paste in the guide and you are good to go right? Plot twist it’s not always the case, two different VPS can follow the same guide and have different experiences, it’s shocking because, it’s the same guide, why is one node running and the other not running. Some times the result could be better, they could run the code and still get the same result. That’s my experience so far, the airdrop space is getting pretty much saturated, because the tasks are easy, testnet interactions which is easy, anyone who can read can do it. This has made airdrop hunting less profitable, because of the population of people participating for the same rewards. For instance, when a project sets out airdrop rewards for a project, the amount of participants will determine how profitable the reward would be. More participants less rewards per participant, less participants, more reward per participant. So switching to node running seemed like the best idea because it’s very technical and not everyone would be interested in the doing it.
Today I woke up to the news that one of the crypto nodes I am running has updated its node version, so as not to miss out on anything I decided to update the node, now my node has stopped running and I don’t know what to do, I have complained on the discord and one of the devs said I should be patient so they can find a solution to my problem. Now I am stuck here waiting for the solution, this is the challenge I am having, I have no knowledge in code running so I don’t know what I am doing, I am just buying VPS, copying and pasting and running nodes hoping I get an airdrop. Wish me luck.
Can you recommend a cheap vps service provider
