Do We Truly Need To Be Onchain Anonymous?

Was trying out a new upcoming chain called Swisstronik, was doing some of the airdrop tasks and there was a part that required KYC, I knew that a lot of people would back out from the project the moment they see that task that requires KYC. I did it, KYC can be used for my good than evil. I believe that to some extent we need to do KYC, for some level of security. I did the KYC for this task, minted my NFT, and if I use my crypto wallet for any illegal activities, my identity will be fished out because I have used the wallet to mint an NFT that has my identity.

We have seen cases of crypto assets getting recovered after years of investigation because, these assets get sent to CEX wallets and you need KYC on CEX. We have also seen and heard cases where wallets get compromised and assets hacked to hackers wallets and we can’t do anything about it because we don’t have any name attached to it or KYC, but imagine when KYC starts being necessary for some onchain transactions.

Scammers and fraudsters will be able to get identified when they do any onchain scam activity, making it quite safe and secured to some extent while trying to maintain the decentralized nature of the blockchain, this is just my 2 cent.
