Remember when SBF was a huge supporter of Solana, it helped pumped the price of Solana, this is because, SBF was seen as the prince of crypto. Had a crypto exchange that was competing with Binance and Coinbase, invested in a lot of partnership, onboarded a lot of people into crypto, was valued to be one of the youngest billionaires in crypto. He was very influential in the crypto space, love Solana a lot, always tweeted about it, had a feud with someone on Twitter and told the person to sell all their Solana to him. Solana was pumping during those times, Solana was on its way to becoming the Ethereum killer, it was compared with Ethereum so many times. The bear market, SBF got arrested and his crypto exchange FTX crashed, the value of SOL dumped to $9 from over $200.

I lost hope in Solana, I thought that was the end of Solana. I didn’t bother interacting or investing in the ecosystem. But last year showed me how wrong I was, Solana mobile was a big flop late last year, but today, it’s a huge success, why? Well, it started with multiple airdrops and multi memecoin trading. The value of SOL started increasing, Pyth airdrop was launched on the Solana chain, Jito airdrop was launched on the Solana chain. Bonk airdrop got a lot of people trading on the Solana chain, then BONK did an airdrop for Solana mobile owners. The Solana mobile phone sales increased, got sold out after some days, this was a mobile phone that didn’t make sales, which led to the decrease of the price from $1,000 to $500.

All these increased the value of SOL, now SOL is back to being on the crypto top 10. It’s one of the most successful coins in the crypto space, lots of development happening the space, liquidity is flowing into the space. Now, no one cares about SBF or his support, or if his lack of support will cripple the price of SOL. This is the reason investing in a project that develops and has utility is good, it makes the chain quite sustainable.
