The Kodak Experience: Always Learn To Embrace Change
Kodak was known to be one of the top camera producing companies few years back. This was the time before the digital camera era flooded the market. Most top used cameras were being produced by Kodak, these cameras were not digital cameras, this means that they used films. With old cameras you have to buy the films for every time you want to take a picture, nothing like memory that lets you save your works and lets you check if you would like the pictures or not. Imagine how big the Kodak company was and how rich they must have been to have you buy their camera and also buy the film to use the camera. They were at their peak compared to other camera producing competitors.

A man came and proposed a digital camera idea to Kodak. This lets people take pictures that could be stored digitally, this will thereby reduce the need for films, Kodak making huge sales from camera films so that as a bad idea. Who wouldn’t? Although the world was changing and detail was taking over analog but Kodak wasn’t ready to embrace that change yet, they must have gotten the wrong advise from people or rather didn’t see or believe in the future that digital was coming and it was inevitable. They were probably in denial or felt intimidated by digital or whatever, so they refused the idea of creating digital cameras. This man with the digital camera idea took it to Sony and Sony bought the idea and started creating digital cameras.
Digital cameras hit the market and people loved, people embraced digital cameras and started buying it, the demand for digital cameras increased, over time the demand for digital cameras surpassed the demand for film cameras. Digital cameras are portable and cute to carry, it became a trend. It had better features, you could save your pictures, you could delete pictures you didn’t like and stuff like that. So why would you choose the film camera over the digital camera? Sony made a lot of money and stock got higher and that of Kodak got lower and they filed for bankruptcy.
Looking at the crypto space right now, lots of people are about to have the Kodak experience because they dont want to embrace the detail money trend and opportunity. More people are getting into crypto and choosing crypto over fiat. People who saw this vision a long time ago are enjoying the result of their choice. Micro strategy is investing all their money on bitcoin, in the next 10 years we are probably going to see the value of their stock 10X.

It wasn't just a case of an outsider approaching Kodak with the idea of digital photography. Engineers at Kodak were pioneers in digital photography.
HP was also a leader in developing digital cameras. Internal politics kept the firm from developing the technology. I fear that this is a common occurance.
