The Unfortunate Phishing Event

I have been in the crypto airdrop space for 2 years now and within this 2 years I have learnt, lost and earned. The first week of my airdrop hunting journey, I lost about $5 due to Phishing link. It was my first week of airdrop hunting, I got a notification that I was eligible for an airdrop and told to click the link to claim the airdrop. I clicked it and saw about $5 leave my wallet. I checked the explorer and saw the website tagged the address as Phishing address. That taught me my first Phishing lesson, fortunately it was just $5 I didn't dwell on the loss.

Today same thing, unfortunately my NFTs worth over $400 was phished from my wallet, this is just another day of you can never be too careful on the space. Ever since my first $5 got phished out my wallet, I have been really careful, made sure I crosscheck each contract before approving, make sure I use wallet checker and fire wallet that notifies when a contract is dangerous or tagged as a phishing contract, this has saved me a lot. Unfortunately today, I was so busy and didn't use my metamask wallet that prompts my wallet guide and fire wallet security notification. I was using OKX wallet which led to verifying a phishing link contract that led to my wallet getting hacked off my 2 most valuable NFTs worth over $400.

It was sad for a moment because I thought I would never be in that position again, I thought it's impossible to ever click a phishing link that will get my wallet hacked, I can't say there is any other way to be more careful except being more attentive with every contract you approve no matter how insignificant you might think the contract, pay better attention and make sure you do not get hacked.

That sucks to hear man! Hopefully you can gain those funds back through other means but it’s still a challenging loss. The most important lessons are sadly the painful ones.
