Real World Asset Tokenization on Hive, Part 1

Blackrock and BUIDL versus Hive

  • I read with great interest that due to the sucess of the BUIDL fund on Etherium that Blackrock was planning to offer the fund on Arbitrum, Polygon, Aptos and Avax to name four other blockchains or second layer solutions.
  • Blackrock has a reputation for everything they touch turning to gold, and so far their Bitcoin ETF and their Tokenized US Treasuries fund BUIDL have been pure gold.
  • So their record of success is not broken.
  • So then I asked myself, is there any way to get some of those RWA here on Hive?
  • ???

First thought

  • Well it was no...we aren't EVM like Ethereum or these other blockchains...
  • They seem to all be compatible with EVM, and we are not..

  • But then I thought what about Arbitrum and Maya... Cacaoswap...
  • It occurred to me that because we can trade Hive for Leo, and Leo for Arbitrum Leo, and Arbitrum Leo for any token on Arbitrum blockchain... We can buy BUIDL tokens, which represent tokenized RWA Real World Assets...U.S. Treasuries with Hive.

Idea...

  • Cool
  • and if we can get around Whitelist KYC rules on the secondary market??? Or just create a path to Whitelist KYC on a website then members of the Hive COmmunity can buy BUIDL tokens and invest in US Treasuries here on Hive.
  • actually I suspect I could create a website where we can use HBD to buy BUIDL tokens...
  • Well there's only one way to find out, do it...
  • Check out this space in afew days and I will let you know if it worked.
  • stay tuned for Part 2

There's nothing stopping a community from tokenizing their real-world assets and putting them on a blockchain.

In fact, it might be a good idea before we end up "owning nothing, and being happy".

True, I suppose we could print tokens to be used with HBD and represent fractitional ownership of real assets.

You are looking into the wrong direction. We've all been brainwashed by this EVM craze. You don't bloody need to have an EVM to do RWA, wake up (collectively)!

I agree.

I think that is a characteristic of the past, where everything had to be done on Ethereum or an EVM compatible blockchain to be taken seriously.

Now we need to show that we know what we are doing, , we can make it simple to do, and we can attract customers.
